Design Aficionado meets Project Manager

Meet Bynn, our founder and seasoned designer, who conceptualizes beautiful homes and spaces. With a blend of creativity and technical expertise, Bynn is involved in every aspect of the project, from design vision and drawing plans to managing contracts and overseeing execution.

Bynn started her career in Silicon Valley, managing tech projects and mastering the importance of detailed planning for exceptional designs. After a hiatus to raise her two children, she returned to her true passion: interior architecture and design. She refined her skills at a high-end luxury design firm, where she gained invaluable experience in creating sophisticated, bespoke interiors for discerning clients.

In 2016, Bynn launched Bynn Esmond Designs LLC, one of the few multi-disciplinary firms in the Bay Area that unites creative and technical design processes with a client-centered, personalized approach.

Bynn’s passion for art is deeply rooted in her upbringing. Surrounded by her parents’ artistic brilliance and simple lifestyle, she learned to live with intention. Family, friends, and good food are at the heart of her life. Bynn and her family regularly travel to tropical destinations for scuba diving adventures, exploring new underwater worlds together.

For Bynn, a home is more than just walls; it’s a place that brings people together. When she’s not designing homes, she enjoys creating gourmet meals, hosting dinners, and giving back to the community. She actively supports Rooms of Hope, providing dream room makeovers for children with life-threatening illnesses, and volunteers with her children through YMSL and Surf Riders Foundation, teaching the importance of service and environmental stewardship.

Bynn resides in San Carlos with her husband, two children (now 16 and 20), and a playful Shiba Inu who loves attention and walks.

Driven by a passion for improving personal environments to enhance lives, Courtney takes pride in providing the best personalized digital models possible. She strives to continuously learn and improve to assist in enhanced living.

Design has been a part of her since she was young.

“I love to create spaces that fill hearts, inspire, encourage and enable people to be who they really want to be.”

When Courtney is not creating beautiful design renderings, she can be found outdoors tending to her garden or creating beautiful paintings on canvases.

Mandie

Mandie Chau

Operations Assistant
A pro at managing a tight ship, Mandie helps Bynn to make sure our firm is well organized and running as efficiently as possible on the operations side.

As a highly detailed and organized person who thrives on processes and communication, she consistently shows up with a can-do positive attitude; ready to tackle the day.

Having spent time renovating her own Airbnbs and home, Mandie is passionate about design and beautiful, functional spaces. In her free time, Mandie is often off hiking with her two dogs, practicing yoga, caring for her one too many houseplants, or restoring her classic camper van.
