Set within a wooded hillside and originally influenced by the principles of Frank Lloyd Wright, this home features dramatic cantilevered spaces and a strong connection to its natural surroundings. Our work focused on refining the interior—reworking the kitchen, adjusting openings, and introducing architectural detailing to better align the interior experience with the home's structure and setting. As a defining focal point, we designed a 20-foot-tall patinated steel fireplace conceived as a permanent art installation. Each section was custom formed, hand-painted with patina, and torched at high temperatures to create its unique color and texture before being assembled into a singular sculptural piece that anchors the home.
Designed for clients with a deep appreciation for global art and travel, the home serves as both a retreat and a reflection of a life well lived. Existing pieces, including a restored 1950s sofa, were thoughtfully integrated alongside curated furnishings and collected works from around the world. The result is a layered, personal environment—grounded in architecture, enriched by craftsmanship and story, and designed as a place to return, reset, and reconnect.
